It is often said that the best medicines are preventative and acupuncture has a significant and effective role to play in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

   

While I'm not advocating that acupuncture be used to enable bad habits or takes the place of a healthy lifestyle, we all have times in our lives when we have work stress, lack of sleep, emotional distress or suffer some other kind of upheaval and haven't been able to eat and exercise as well as we'd like. At these times, our immune system can be suppressed, leaving us open to viruses and infections, our moods can take a dive and we stop feeling like ourselves.
